Telecom Association launched this blog a year ago as a way to help business end-users and IT hardware resellers understand "How to Buy Telecom". If you scroll through past blog posts you'll see that the content has largely been about how to evaluate one voice or data network solution against another.
Well our blog is finally out of "beta" now that we've established a solid foundation of content and content contributors so now we're launching the "Who to Buy Telecom From" part of the blog to connect business end-users and IT hardware resellers to the best voice and data network service independent partners and service vendors with our three "Recommended Members" lists.
If you click on the three "Recommended Members" links at the top of this page just under the horizontal red masthead you'll be able to view a hand edited list of the best partners and vendors that are vetted Telecom Association members sorted by metro specialty, service specialty or vertical industry specialty.
We've still got 30 days to go to fully populate the three lists so check back often between now and January 1, 2012 to see who "makes the grade".
Who Gets on the List?
Telecom Association has about 3,800 official members but we've got a database of about 6,000 voice and data network service professionals throughout the US and beyond.
For the past five years we've conducted an annual "Members Choice" awards to come up with the best telecom vendors in dozens of categories. (Click here to view winners from the past five years.) After the awards have been completed for the year TA sorts our various vendor directory categories not alphabetically but by which vendor was voted the best by fellow TA members.
This year for the first time TA is honoring independent partners with awards in addition to vendors. (Partners are different from vendors in that partners independently help business end-users select the best vendors to work with when designing, integrating or recommending voice or data telecom network services or solutions.)
So this year we've converted our "Members Choice Awards" to the "Customers' Choice Awards" as a way to determine which TA member partners and vendors are making their customers the happiest. Once we pick the nominees and winners from very well qualified TA member candidates, these are the TA member partners and vendors that get onto our "Recommended Members" list.
