When it comes to how business customers feel about having AT&T as their phone company -- it seems that they fall into one of two categories.
They either love AT&T or they hate AT&T.
In the news this past week I learned another reason it might be the "hate" category. It seems that AT&T phone customers are supporting call center representatives that earn a total "wages and benefits" compensation package of over $107,000.
Network technicians, the folks who show up and install services on site at your business earn a compensation package eclipsing $133,000.
Wow! That's a lot of money. I've got friends with college degrees and every Microsoft and Cisco certification you can name who are unemployed and who would be happy to get a job earning half that.
Over Paying AT&T or Verizon for Phone, Internet and Data Service?
Now I'm not saying that people shouldn't get paid what they're worth but hey, business customers have choices.
When I fly, I fly economy, even though I know I could pay double (or more) to fly up front in the first class section. But after a five-hour flight coast-to-coast, the good folks flying in first class only get off the plane about four minutes before I do.
Does paying double for air transportation give first class flyers double the value? I don't think so. We both got transported the exact same distance at the exact same speed in the exact same airplane.
The same principle applies to business phone, Internet and data service.
If you're a Verizon or AT&T business phone, Internet or data customer - you're paying for first class communications service but you're only getting "economy service" because of their high overhead.
Independent Agents Offer First Class Service at Economy Rates ... Call Us!
Independent telecom agents and phone consultants earn their money the old fashioned way -- they show their clients how to get the best phone, Internet and data service at the lowest prices -- and then share in the savings with their business customers.
If you're still getting invoiced from AT&T or Verizon or any of your business phone, Internet or data bills have been paid for more than a year without an expert review, call us. In just a couple minutes we can let you know if you've got a "killer deal" already or if you're just getting killed.
Seriously, should should YOU be paying the person who takes the order for your phone service or the person that installs your phone service more than what you pay 80% of all your employees?
I work for at&t and am one of those technicians you are talking about. Rest assured I do not make that amount. In actuality I make about 60% of that amount. And I am not saying that it is not a good job, what I am saying is that a company that makes billions should not only compensate their CEO and executive level managers but they should also share some of that profit with the employees that help keep it profitable. Take a look at http://www.att.com/gen/investor-relations?pid=282 and then check out the new release. And don't get confused;the core operations are as involved with the other segments as the actual segments are. For example you can not have a wireless network without using the existing at&t non-wireless network. Anyway, I don't want to sound off from my pedestal but it is not fair that at&t makes such statements.
